About Our Club

The I.T.K.A. Liverpool Shotokan Karate Club was founded in May 2003
(previously known as A.C.F. Shotokan Karate Club)
by the Senior Instructor Sensei Ken Tsai (4th Dan - Yondan).

Sensei Ken Tsai has many years of experience in karate having started training in 1987,
throughout this time Sensei Ken Tsai has competed in many karate tournaments
and progressed into instruction by opening his own dojo
this allows him to pass on his knowledge and skills to his students.

Sensei Ken Tsai is also a qualified judge and referee and has been for over 15 years.

Sensei Ken Tsai has had the privilege of refereeing at international level including the J.S.K.A. World Open Championships 2008.

In April 2010 the I.T.K.A. Liverpool Shotokan Karate Club along with Preston Karate Club (under Sensei Albert Timothy 6th Dan)
became affiliated to the I.T.K.A. by forming the I.T.K.A. Shotokan Karate of Great Britain.

Since the forming the club in 2003, the club has produced numerous Dan Grades ranging from 3rd Dan to 1st Dan black belts.

Sensei Kenneth Tsai was a former member of the K.U.G.B.
